How to Store a Password in Office Communicator

Office Communicator is an instant messaging application designed by Microsoft to work with the Microsoft Office suite. Office Communicator offers instant messaging, VoIP and video conferencing. You can save and retrieve contacts through a local directory service and manage them through a designated server such as Exchange Server or Office Communications Server. In addition, Communicator provides enhanced security features through Microsoft and can be used within organizations and also with partner companies. Storing a password in Office Communicator requires a few steps to set up.

Instructions


Click "Start" and then click "Run" to open a Run box. Type "Regedit." Click "OK." This will open your Registry Editor.


Locate the registry key "HKLM/Software/Policies/Microsoft/Communicator."

Set "SavePassword" to "=1." Click "Save" within Office Communicator to save passwords and it will be stored in the registry. You have now stored a password in Office Communicator.
