Unable to dictate in Microsoft Communicator
Problem:

When using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 with Microsoft Communicator, it may not be possible to dictate into the Microsoft Communicator's instant message window.



Solution:

To successfully dictate into the instant message window of Microsoft Communicator, please update a Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 installation file using the steps below.

Close all programs.
Click "Start > My Computer" (or "Start > Computer" on Windows Vista or Windows 7) to open a Windows Explorer window.
Browse to the installation directory of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 ("C:\Program Files\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11\Program" by default).
Locate the file named "web_ie.dll" and rename it to "web_ie.old".
Download the updated Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 installation file from the following link:
http://supportcontent.nuance.com/dragon/11/web_ie.zip
After downloading the "web_ie.zip" file, double-click the file and extract the new "web_ie.dll" file to the Windows Desktop.
Copy the new "web_ie.dll" file from the Windows Desktop and paste it into the installation directory of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 ("C:\Program Files\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking11\Program" by default).
